About this site.

Hi. I'm Tom. I write here about yard care, the tools that last vs the tools that don't, and the small adjustments that keep guys like me working in our own yards into our sixties and beyond.

I'm 58, I've been doing my own yard for 35 years, and I've replaced enough cheap gear to know what's worth recommending and what isn't.

The honest part.

The Weekend Yardsman is published by Field & Harvest Co, the company that makes the Yeoman Handle I write about most often. I get paid to share what works. The articles you read here are sponsored editorial content.

That said: I've never written about a product I haven't bolted on my own trimmer, swung in my own yard, or otherwise put through a real season of use. If something doesn't work for me, it doesn't show up here.

Tom is also a persona — a stand-in for the kind of writer this publication is trying to be. The recommendations and product positions are those of Field & Harvest Co. Stories and testimonials reflect real customer experiences with the products mentioned, though individual results may vary.

What you'll find here.

Articles for the guy who still mows his own yard, edges his own driveway, and refuses to hire someone for a job he can do himself. Tool reviews, weekend tips, the occasional back-saver. No fluff.
